Brad Sherman <cs_wsherma@k12server.mveca.org> West Milton, Ohio USA - Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 23:12:25 I miss Ashville & enjoy reading your site! Thanks! 1990 graduate. Heidi (King) Tanner <hjtanner@hotmail.com> Marysville, OH USA - Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 06:53:23 This is a great site and a good way to catch up. Rose you do a wonderful job. Debbie Jenkins <djenkins@columbus.gov> Ashville, OH USA - Friday, April 23, 2004 at 03:43:01 Rose I met you at Barb's appointment to postmaster. I am her favorite brother-in-law. Tell her hello when you stop by. Your dedication to the military on you web site is above and beyond the call. Thank you from the US Military SGM Roger Burnett <roger.burnett@oh.ngb.army.mil> New Lexington, OH USA - Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 07:20:30 Re: http://www.ashvilleohio.net/didyouknow.htm The text "Did
You Know?" is a widely distributed spam that has already been
throroughly debunked, including at http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/capital.asp
(with links to other documentation). For instance, the quotes from James
Madison and Patrick Henry are simply phony. Neither man said what this
text attributes to them. The sculptor who designed the frieze
"right above where the Supreme Court judges sit" stated that
the Roman numerals I through X in that artwork represent the ten
amendments in the Bill of Rights, not the Ten Commandments. The figure
of Moses appears among other great lawgivers of history, so this does
not represent any singling out of a religion. The text you reprinted
falsely claims the other lawgivers face toward Moses, but see for
yourself that the figures on each side (Confucius and Solon) are also
facing forward: http://www.snopes.com/politics/graphics/scotus4.jpg And
no matter what John Jay may have thought in his private opinion, in
plain fact the Constitution does not suggest that "Americans should
select and prefer Christians as their rulers." Article VI says
explicitly: "no religious Test shall ever be required as a
Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United
States." Besides, in America, officials are public servants; the
people are the rulers. Great site. Keep up the good work Postmaster, Ashville Just checked back through all of the Guestbook signings!!Great!!
Didn't realize I was the second to sign almost 3 1/2 years ago!! There
have been a lot of people sign since then!! Michael Thank you for returning my e mail Jim
