The VILLAGE OF ASHVILLE convened in regular session from 7:06 P.M. to 7:38 P.M. in the 91 MAIN ST W

ASHVILLE, OHIO 43103.  Mayor Chuck Wise called the meeting to order with the following members and visitors present:

MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

 

Chester Gloyd moved, seconded by Gayle Blankenship, to approve the minutes of the January 19, 2006 Council Meeting, as presented.  All votes were yea. 

 

DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS

 

1.  PLANNING AND ZONING (01/25/06) . . . Chester Gloyd reported that it was the recommendation of P&Z to council that the pending ordinance creating a PUD be amended to specify the number of dwellings per acre under the SR categories and that the P&Z Ordinance be amended concerning the issuance of Occupancy Permits.  Also, Gloyd reported that the approval of the Preliminary Plat of Ashville Commons was table until  the next meeting, February 22, 2006.

 

2.  VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR . . . Franklin Christman reported that work was progressing on the permanent appropriations for 2006, that since the primary clarifier at the wastewater plant was placed in service, odors have been reduced and that maintenance was underway on the softeners at the water plant.  He reminded everyone that the Mayor's Annual Report and reports from various departments were included in the recent newsletter.  The VA encouraged residents to report pot holes by calling the village office. 

 

POLICE OFFICER

 

Chief Jerry Pennington introduced Keith Walker as a new full time member of the department and  coming from the ranks of the Police Auxiliary.  Mayor Wise administered the Oath of Office to Walker as a regular full time police officer. 

 

 

COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

1.  FINANCE (01-31-06) . . . Barbara Hopper reported the committee had met with the Administrator and Fiscal Officer to work on the permanent appropriations for 2006 which must be completed by April 1, 2006.  She said that the department heads will be invited to the committee meeting on February 13, 2006 to review budget requests.
