2. Keith Moore moved, seconded by Chester Gloyd, to table, until the second council meeting in February, the Third Reading of the Ordinance to AMEND THE PLANNING AND ZONING ORDINANCES BY ADDING A CHAPTER CALLED PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF ASHVILLE. All votes were yea.

 

LEGISLATION – RESOLUTIONS

 

1. Chester Gloyd moved, seconded by Keith Moore, to hold the First Reading of the resolution TO AUTHORIZE THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT TO DEVELOP A RADIO METER READING SYSTEM FOR THE UTILITY DEPARTMENTS. All votes were yea. Following the reading, Chester Gloyd moved, seconded by Keith Moore, to accept the reading. All votes were yea.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

 

Mayor Wise reminded all that there was still a vacancy on council and that several individuals had expressed interest but, that if anyone else was interested please let him or a council member know. And that interviews would be conducted at the next Committee of the Whole meeting.

 

NEW BUSINESS: Mayor Wise opened the bids that were received for the surplus police cruiser: $300 from Jerry H. Pennington and $883.79 from Scott Erwin. Keith Moore moved, seconded by Chester Gloyd, to review the bids at the next Committee of the Whole meeting.

 

CLERK-FISCAL OFFICER REPORT . . . The CFO noted that he had handed out the December 2005 Financial Report and the 2005 Annual Financial Report that had been filed with the State Auditor. He discussed the Audit Report for 2003 and 2004 and said that several of the compliance issues had already been addressed and hopefully the rest could be accomplished this year.

 

COUNCIL MEMBER COMMENTS:

 

1. Barbara Hopper stated that apparently people were not observing stop signs which endangers other motorists and pedestrians and that the NO LEFT TURN coming out of the Post Office is not being observed. Also, she was concerned about the State Issue being proposed by Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell and would report back after she had studied it more.

 

At 8:07 PM, Chester Gloyd moved, seconded by Keith Moore, to adjourn the meeting. All votes were yea.

 

All formal actions of the of VILLAGE OF ASHVILLE COUNCIL concerning and relating to the adoption of ordinances, resolutions and motions passed at this meeting were adopted in a meeting open to the public, in compliance with the law, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
